Newspaper Research? Learn more on #GENCHAT this Friday
By Stephanie Pitcher Fishman Announcements No Comments

Newspaper research can add so much to your family history. Obituaries, announcements, news stories, and even advertisements offer us a glimpse into the life and times of our ancestors like no other record set can. This week’s #GENCHAT is all about newspapers!
Join us this Friday, 22 February 2013, as we discuss and share our best tips and tricks for using newspapers in your genealogy research. Bring with you your ideas to share, the title of your favorite resource, or a website or two to share with others in the community as we learn together.
The next genealogy #GENCHAT will take place on twitter this Friday, February 22nd at 9PM Central. Just for clarity, that’s:
- 10 PM Eastern
- 9PM Central
- 8PM Mountain
- 7PM Pacific.
Just follow:
- Jen Baldwin: @ancestryjourney
- Terri O’Connell: @tracingmyfamily
- Me! Stephanie Pitcher Fishman: @cornandcotton
- the hashtag: #genchat
New to twitter chats? Jen at Conference Keeper, the holder of the official #genchat schedule, has put together some helpful resources. Find tips and easy-to-read articles linked here.

See you on the 22nd!
